I think God is sending me a personal message " work on your left hand".

Well, we are half way into our season and things had been going pretty good. Our team is young and we were learning a lot. The younger kids were beginning to step up.
We started off the season really great, winning three in a row. Then, we played some tough teams, but we were able to stay in the games, which showed our desire to improve.
Now I have a broken hand and have to watch from the sideline, which has given me a different perspective. I am sitting on the bench, and I know I am not going to get to go in, which has been one of the most frustrating experiences of my life. School has been tough lately with my writing hand broken. Unfortunately this last week was the end of the semester and finals were hard. Writing left handed is slow and at times annoying, but it's obviously getting stronger. Everything I did right handed, I now do left handed, just wearing jeans is hard.
I missed a left handed layup in the game before the one I broke my hand, and I think God is sending me a personal message " work on your left hand". I also think he is reminding me of how to appreciate the fact that I can play the game and not take everything for granted. Right now, I even enjoy running crushers. I am very thankful it's only my hand, especially when I read about people with more serious problems. I know I am going to be back, and right now I am running, jumping and working to get back on the court.
Today we play Alex and I know my teammates are going to work extremely hard.

See you later.

"Overall it was a great day at the gym for us."

Basketball has finally begun and our team is working extremely hard.  Practices have gone great with everybody giving all their effort.   Scrimmaging in Fergus Falls went good.  We started off slow but by the end of the day we improved and figured out what we had to work on.  We started at 9:30 and played 4, eighteen minute, running time, scrimmages.  After that we played a regulation half and ended up winning.  By the final game we were starting to find a groove and we played very good.  Overall it was a great day at the gym for us.  Our first, regular season game is December 1st against Centennial. It’s been great having a couple days off of school for Thanksgiving especially since none of my teachers found it necessary to give out homework.  Coach was forced to give us Thursday off for Thanksgiving but otherwise we still have been going at it every day.  As the snow starts falling up here I’m becoming more and more anxious for the warm weather in Florida.  Right now it’s freezing and there is ice on the road and sidewalks.  Unfortunately, winter has come and is here to stay for five months.  Now we are forced to wear coats, hats, gloves, and anything else that can help us stay warm!

"I can't wait for basketball season to begin."

When I think of the past summer, I remember a lot of traveling, but even more, the friendships I made through my AAU experience with the MN Stars. We started with the tournaments in the Cities, but then out to North Carolina in April.  We had fun in-between the games and did a lot of stuff that brought us closer as a team, we just didn’t tell our coach "everything", but he would laugh anyway when he heard some of it.  Then it was practice and tournaments in the Cities again, but in July we headed out to Atlanta and Cincinnati. We played Laser Tag right before our first game and had a blast, but learned a lesson. Our legs were dead, so no more laser tag.  Some of my teammates I had on the team the year before, but we added Brianna, Nicole, Georgie, KK, Brittany and Theairra, and it really was a great time. It was sad when it ended, knowing that it was also the end of my AAU time, since I graduate next year. August was a time to breathe and start focusing on getting ready for school, which came way too fast.  It was a great summer, but now I spend my time in school, working out and traveling to visit colleges, which is fun, but it will be nice to have my decision made, and hopefully soon. I can't wait for basketball season to begin, but I am in a fall league which will be neat because of not just the basketball, but I will get to see some of my friends from the Stars team. So that’s all for now, school is going to start.   Kelsey
