By Gary Knox - May 11, 2011 2013 MC McGrory, Metro Stars, Edina High School MC McGrory has taken her game to another level this season. Last AAU season, the 5'9" guard struggled a little with full court pressure. This season, her command of the guard position is at an all time high. Now, defenders are giving her space because of her blow-by ability and decision making with the basketball. She has improved her range and is shooting the pull-up jumper with supreme confidence. The sky is the limit as McGrory is very coachable with a big time hustle to her game. Her work ethic in practice is off the charts. McGrory helped lead Metro Stars Amos to a 3-0 record that earned them the #1 seed. 2013 Tyseanna Johnson - North Tartan All you need to know about Tyseanna Johnson is she plays hard, runs hard, is relentless in the paint, is physical, has fire in the belly, hustle and makes plays, and does not get tired. Johnson is a 5'11" wing. She has a State Championship to her resume with DeLaSalle High School. This season Johnson has added a three-pointer to her game and is one-of-three Minnesota ballers making HoopGurlz Top 100 Watch List. Johnson has mastered the art of winning by playing hard and doing the little things on the court. She has no problem running down loose balls and diving on the floor to secure an extra possession for her team. |

2013 Joanna Hedstrom - North Tartan The first trait you notice about this point guard is, she sees the floor. And because of her court vision and high basketball IQ, she is able to react to situations and instinctly make the right decisions. Joanna Hedstrom is starting to get national attention for her ability to run the show and find teammates for easy scoring opportunities. HoopGurlz noticed her decision making and play making ability on the Campus of Northwestern University. Hedstrom is a true point guard and her 5'11" frame is a plus as she is able to pass over and around defenders to open teammates. Her ability to pick apart a press or a half court trap makes her a valuable floor general. Hedstrom is one of the top play makers in Minnesota and she understands the importance of teamwork, taking care of the basketball and hitting the open shot.

2013 Nia Coffey - Metro Stars Nia Coffey is a show stopper on the AAU circuit. Last AAU season, she burst on the scene and stood out because of her ability to play above the rim. She has hops and can jump out the gym.Coffee is also an high energy player, who plays with passion and fire. She is a standout because she is a gamer, who likes to compete and win. The sky is the limit for Coffey and because of her work ethic and her desire to get better, her upside is limitless. Her defensive presence in the paint and long frame allows her to change shots on defense. The 6'1" wing is a major reason Hopkins High School won the 2011 Class 4A Championship. And last weekend, she helped lead the Metro Stars to a 3-0 finish to secure the #1 seed. |

2013 Natalie VanWyhe, MN Fury Natalie VanWyhe is a 5'8" guard for the Minnesota Fury. She was noticed for her ability to get to the rim and her speed and quickness as a point guard. VanWyhe was aggressive on Qualifier weekend and showed a desire to defend. VanWyhe had a lot of hustle to her game and was a team leader on the court, doing the simple things and playing smart.
