HEIGHT: 6-1 POSITION: FORWARD / Shooting Guard GRADUATION: 2009 HIGH SCHOOL TEAM: Centennial AAU TEAM: NC Heat NBA/WNBA COMPARISON: Jamal Mashburn, Katie Douglas COLLEGE COMMITMENT: Junior PLAYER PROFILE: Already one of the most heavily recruited players in the state, Megan Nipe is getting a lot of attention from the Big 10, SEC, Big 12, ACC, Mid American, Mountain West, and the Big East Conferences. Nipe is an emerging star with tremendous athletic and takeover ability. She has the best mid-range game in the state. Nipe can get off her shot with very little daylight. And because of her lights-out ability from mid-range, Nipe is deadly when running out-of-bound plays. Her long-range game is equally as effective. Nipe can score in many different ways and in very little time. During her sophomore year, Nipe averaged 16.9 points and 7.8 rebounds per game. She is a nightmare in the transition game and she finishes strong at the rim. Nipe’s running-the-floor-ability allows her to beat players down the court for easy lay-ups. She also gets a lot of “garbage” points because of her knack for being around the play. At 6-1, Nipe has size, speed, quickness and a rare ability to knock down contested shots in bunches. Talk about being a student-athlete, Nipe carries a 3.95 GPA – many of her classes are honor classes. 2008 Updates: 1st Team All-Metro - 1st Team All-State - Pioneer Press, LINKS: BLOG: Megan Nipe blog |
