PLAYER PROFILE: ESPN (Hoops Gurlz) ranks Roosevelt’s Suriya McGuire #58 in its national rankings in the 2010 class. McGuire is ranked #5 by gPrep and could move up if she continues to play lights-out. Last season, McGuire had two triple-doubles. The 6’0” combo guard can rebound, score, jump the passing lane on defense, has g-r-e-a-t handles, and can thread the needle like a seamstress. The “seamstress” had a great summer for North Tartan. McGuire is now one of the most recruited players in Minnesota. Here are some of the colleges and universities that are showing interest: Kansas, Missouri, California , Arizona , DePaul, Iowa, Minnesota, Indiana, Ohio State, Kentucky, Fordham, UIC (Illinois-Chicago), Georgia, Pittsburgh and Marquette.
